Our amazing class trip to „Leipzig“

Hey guys,

Today I’d like to tell you about our class trip to Leipzig in Germany. It was super fun and I learned many new things about the city. Now let me start with our first day.

Our trip began on a Sunday. Yes, you read that right. A SUNDAY! It was the 28th of June 2026. First thing in the morning we had to get our train in Grimmenthal at 9:20 a.m. To our surprise it even came a bit earlier than expected bc usually the DB is always late. Well lucky us! An hour later we arrived in Erfurt and took our next train to Leipzig, which took another 35 minutes. Finally we had arrived and the first things we needed to take care of were our suitcases. 🤦

Unfortunately we had to put them into hella expensive lockers. Those things took so much time away! After that we finally had some free time at the big ass train station! We got us some food and some drinks and then met at our spot again. Then we went on our way to the city harbour (it wasn’t an actual one but it’s the name of it).

There we got onto the boat and started our tour. It was very hot outside… too hot. You couldn’t even touch the table without burning yourself! 😵 One time we even had to lie down bc the bridge was so small! (onto the hot table btw). Nonetheless it was actually quite funny bc one of our classmates #Robert fell asleep on the boat! I’m still wondering how he did that. After the tour we went back to the station and got our suitcases. Now since the trains weren’t driving bc of the heat we had to take the bus… which was full of people. After another hour we finally arrived at our youth hostel! (It didn’t look so good from outside). We went inside, got our keys and went upstairs into our rooms. They were okay but there were only toilets for disabled people! The boys had a normal one even in their room! #unfair. Still we got over it and got comfortable. In the evening we ordered some food (like pizza and noodles). The food was alright, but it had lots of cheese on it. After an eventful first day we fell exhausted into our beds (and woke up ten times at night bc it was too warm).

Now to our second day, the 29th of June 2026. In the morning we all got up at around 7:30 a.m. (all sweaty btw), got ready and went to breakfast. The hostel had bread, vegetables, cornflakes and so on. After we finished eating we went outside and waited for the bus. Ofc it was packed again, just like the train we took after (standing is hell). 🤦

Later then we took our legs and walked to the zoo in Leipzig. Inside we had around four hours to walk through the zoo and answer some questions Mr. Storch gave us. We quickly finished them and could finally focus on all the animals!

They had so many different species, you can’t even name all those! All in all it was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect for an afternoon in the zoo! As we were done we took a quick stop in the shop and then got back outside. We all together then walked into the city. Leipzig has a very big shopping mall, like really big! All of us split into groups and went shopping wherever we wanted.

Later in the evening at around 8 p.m. we had a special event planned. It was a night watchman tour! The guy had black clothes on and even had some fake weapon. He talked like it was the 18th century. Although we were all exhausted and couldn’t walk anymore it was still fun and interesting. We learned many new facts. Like did you know that Goethe was actually an alcoholic?? Okay, back to the story. At around 9:30 p.m. the tour has ended and we took the train and the bus back to the hostel. That night we all slept peacefully and comfy.

Let me tell you about our third day now, the 30th of June 2026. As always, in the morning we ate breakfast, got ready and took first the bus and then the train (full again). We drove back into the city and went to a DDR museum.

We got put into pairs and had to answer some questions to a specific topic. The real problem though was finding the part where your topic is. Those halls were like a maze, I swear. Around an hour we went back to the market place and shared the information about our topic to the others. Done with that we split into groups again and had some time on the market and in the city. Then after around two-three hours we met up again bc now we had to take the bus to a bowling alley. A few minutes later we arrived and changed our shoes first. Then we had an hour to play. Every team was able to play two times.

The best player of the day was Mrs. Erkenbrecher with 105 points! On the second place was Luca with 102 points and then came Erik with 100 points! It was a fun afternoon, and we even got a free drink. An hour later we walked back outside and got into two groups. One went back into the city with Mrs. Erkenbrecher and the others went with Mr. Storch back into the youth hostel. Back there we played some games and in the evening sat outside and talked a bit.

So now let me talk about our last day. Again in the morning we ate breakfast, got ready, but this time didn’t take the bus to the city, instead we packed our suitcases, cleaned our rooms and left the youth hostel. We still took the bus and the train, though this time to the train station. This time we didn’t have to get the expensive lockers though! We went behind the scenes of the DB and put our suitcases into one of their meeting rooms. After finishing that we still had……some time before our train would arrive so we split into groups again (like we did every since this week), and went shopping. Like two hours later we met up again and went to our platform. Ofc on the last day our train got delayed by 25 minutes! After waiting for so long our train finally arrived and we drove half an hour back to Erfurt. There we had to wait another 20 minutes until the train started and we were on our way back to Grimmenthal. Finally after another hour we arrived back in our home region. It was nice to see familiar places again. We all said goodbye to each other and drove home with our parents. I’m sure we were all still exhausted from the whole week.

To sum up for me and my classmates was it an amazing, tiring and fun trip. We want to thank our teachers for making this possible. Now don’t forget to like and share my blog. A comment (or more) would also be appreciated.
